 TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that all possible steps are taken to avoid injury or damage to the inflatable and the children using it. Please ensure that the following safety instructions are followed:

 1. The unit needs to remain securely anchored (if on hard ground mooring straps should be attached to sand bags). The castle may ‘creep’ even under non-windy conditions so please check the anchors.
 2. There needs to be a clear area around the castle of about 2 metres.
 3. The area needs to be reasonably flat.
 4. This unit has an age limit of 16 years. Please ensure no one over this age uses the equipment. If you need to go on to the castle to help a child please try to spread your weight and step carefully.
 5. No food or drinks to be consumed on the inflatable (to avoid choking and mess).
6. All shoes, badges, buckles, scarves, studded clothing, jewellery (i.e. large earrings, necklaces etc) MUST be removed. It is recommended that spectacles are also removed.
 7. No face paints, party poppers, coloured streamers or ‘silly string’ must be used near the inflatable, as they can make a terrible mess and permanently stain the unit.
 8. No pets, toys or sharp instruments allowed on the bouncy castle.
 9. No smoking near the inflatable. No fires or barbecues near the inflatable.
10. Climbing, hanging, or sitting on the walls is DANGEROUS and must not be allowed.
 11. No somersaulting, back or front flips to avoid injury.
 12. A responsible adult must supervise the inflatable at all times.
 13. Ensure that the inflatable is not overcrowded, and limit the numbers depending on age and size of children using it. If the children are colliding into each other it is too crowded.
 14. Try to avoid large children and small children from using the inflatable at the same time. Some children require strict supervision.
 15. If the inflatable is not being used for any part of the day, please switch the blower off at the mains.
 16. Do not allow anyone to bounce on the step/front apron. The step is there to help users get on and off. Keep the step/front apron clear while the castle is in use.
 17. If the castle has a slide allow only one child at a time on the slide.
 18. Ensure that no one with a history of back or neck problems are allowed on the inflatable. Children who are feeling unwell should not be allowed on the castle. Check with the parents that their children do not have a condition that would put them at risk of harm from use of a bouncy castle.
19. Do not allow users to be on the unit during inflation or deflation.
20. In the event of heavy rain it is strongly recommended that the inflatable be switched off. Any wetness, including bubbling, can be dried with a towel. A small picnic table placed over the blower will help prevent rainwater being sucked into the blower and then into the inflatable.
21. Ensure that the vent on the side of the blower is kept clear at all times.
